Located on the bay's south side, this marina provides easy access to the estuary and is a favorite among kayakers and paddleboarders for its natural beauty and wildlife viewing opportunities. Launch from the marina or nearby beach areas.

Tidelands Park Public Launch Ramp

300 Embarcadero
Situated at the end of Embarcadero, Tidelands Park offers a convenient public launch with free parking. It's an excellent starting point for exploring the bay and is especially suitable for beginners.

Coleman Park & Beach

This spot provides a calm area for launching kayaks and paddleboards directly into the harbor. Located along the Harbor Walk, it's a great place for bird and marine life watching, with the convenience of restrooms and picnic areas.

Back Bay (Los Osos/Baywood Area)

Multiple access points
For a more secluded experience, consider launching from the Back Bay area. Access is via a dirt road off South Bay Boulevard or at the Morro Bay National Estuary, leading to serene waters with stunning views of Morro Rock and surrounding hillsides. Parking is limited, so arriving early is recommended.

Baywood Park Pier and Beach

Located along Pasadena Drive, these launch spots are best used during high tide due to shallow waters. They’re a peaceful spot that’s great for observing local wildlife and taking in the gorgeous views.
