Celebrate the Fall Season with These Festive Morro Bay Events

If you’re searching for fun ways to usher in the fall season, look no further than Morro Bay.

This laid-back coastal town offers plenty to do, including delicious food, drinks, sights, great company, and even greater celebrations. This fall, Morro Bay is playing host to a variety of festive fall and Halloween themed events and activities, from wine tastings to witch-themed paddles in the gorgeous waters of the bay. Witching Hour

If there’s one sight you have to see to believe, it’s a gaggle of several hundred witches making their way across the shoreline on kayaks and stand up paddle boards, cackling menacingly (no, really). Morro Bay’s annual Witches and Warlocks Paddle, set against the beautiful backdrop of Morro Rock, allows you to take part in a spooky fundraiser for the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County. The event started in 2013, and has since brought together hordes of witches and wizards who have traded their broomsticks for paddles. Catch the Witches and Warlocks Paddle on October 22 at 4pm.

Fall Flavors

We know that lovers of the vine have another reason for loving fall: harvest season! Luckily for us, Morro Bay is located right in between two beloved wine regions: SLO Coast Wine Country and Paso Robles Wine Country. Celebrate another year’s bountiful harvest during Harvest Wine Month in Paso Robles, and make Morro Bay your base camp for all things wine. Throughout the month of October, wineries across the region will be hosting festive events and experiences, including specialty tours, winemakers dinners, grape stomps, music events, and more. This celebration is a great way to take advantage of the area’s temperate fall weather, and maybe even find a new favorite drink. Harvest Wine Month lasts from October 1-31.

Dance the Night Away

The Molly Ringwald Project Halloween 80s Party brings together two of the best things: smash hits from the 80s, and the spooky atmosphere of Halloween. The party, hosted at local bar & grill The Siren, is fronted by the titular Molly Ringwald Project, a group of talented musicians who were brought together in 2012 by a shared love of the 1980s. Don your 80s attire and costumes, and enjoy music that is guaranteed to have you on the dance floor in no time. Tickets sell out fast, so get yours soon! The party starts at 7:30 pm on October 28.

(Trick or) Treat Yourself

You didn’t think we’d leave out trick-or-treating, did you? The annual Morro Bay Trick-or-Treat is the perfect family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween, with trick or treating, a bounce house, face painting, games, a photobooth, and more. Grab a map and get going on your trick or treating adventure, visiting participating businesses and amassing a trove of treats in the process. This spooky street party is free, and begins at 3 pm on October 31 in downtown Morro Bay.
