FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Latecomers Bring Holiday Cheer to the Central Coast
Morro Bay, CA — The Latecomers — Central Coast duo Shari Fortino and Michael Smothers — will celebrate the season with two performances, It's Never Too Late to Celebrate the Holidays with the Latecomers, on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 19, from 7:00–9:00 PM at The Savory Palette, in Morro Bay. The shows will feature original music, storytelling, and comedy, backed by a full band including Daryl Van Druff, Riley Allen, and Alex Morrison.
Originally a folk duet, The Latecomers blend musicianship, comedy, and decades of shared stage experience, performing as an intimate duo or full band. Shari Fortino brings over 50 years in singing, dancing, comedy, and theatrical production — including a first TV appearance at six months old and co-narration of an Academy Award–nominated documentary with Jack Lemmon — along with roots as former co-owner of the Bakersfield Melodrama Theatre. Michael Smothers, a singer, drummer, and songwriter, launched his career at 21 at Bakersfield's legendary Blackboard, later sharing stages with Merle Haggard and members of the Buck Owens band.
